My Journey Through Surrogacy
by: Jenn

Life Went On

I was pregnant with my second child at the time and I knew that I would not be ready to pursue surrogacy for quite some time, if I decided to do so I went on with my life and delivered my daughter in February of 1995. Still, surrogacy remained in the back of my mind and the longer I thought about it, the more I knew that, eventually, I wanted to become a surrogate for an infertile couple. The only thing was, I had no idea of what I needed to do to get started.

In July of 1996, my husband and I got on the internet. Shortly thereafter, I did a search on surrogacy and found The American Surrogacy Center. It was a HUGE web site all about surrogacy! I was so excited! This was it! Finally, a way to learn more about surrogacy and connect with others who shared my interest....maybe even meet a couple to help! Through TASC, I met several potential surrogates and intended parents and together, we decided to start an email group called the Surrogacy Circle. It was so wonderful to "talk" to others who were going through the surrogacy process and read about their experiences. I learned a great deal of information from the group, and from TASC. This solidified my decision to become a surrogate. With my husband's support, I finally began to pursue my dream.
