Stacey Vallarta in Illinois - trying to be a surrogate mother

Stacey Vallarta was a previously registered member here on SMO under the name "dragonflz"

Due to many inconsistent stories, I got to Googling and found the following information on her. I want to say now that she has apparently done one or two surrogacy journeys already and at least one egg donation. If that is a lie, it's hard to say but that is what she said. She is wanting to be a TS again now though!

So, here is what I dug up:

1. She posted a thread on the TS forum with a link to a photo of a pregnancy test she took. The post is here. That post includes a link to her Photobucket and the account name is "airstajon73".


2. A simple Google search of "airstajon" (as "airstajon73" provided little info), reveals this: A listing of pet rescue organizations

And that page contains this info:

~She is 35 years old according to some sources, having live(d) in Joliet, IL., Crestwood, IL. among other places in IL.
~Her husband's name is Jon (may be her ex or soon to be ex).
~She is apparently a certified massage therapist
~There may be more that I found but I am drawing a blank. LOL.

Stacey Vallarta rushed her 4-month-old son to doctors for 10 emergency visits in 13 weeks this fall. The doctors ordered blood tests and inserted catheters, but could never find anything wrong with the otherwise thriving infant.

These unexplained emergencies might have been chalked up as overreactions by a doting mom. But when investigators who knew Vallarta's history with an older son discovered she had a new baby, the pattern suggested grave danger, according to court documents.

Nearly five years ago, a Will County Juvenile Court judge ruled that Vallarta of Joliet had systematically caused the debilitating illness of another son--a preschooler who spent so much time in the hospital, subjected to painful tests and surgeries, that his medical care cost more than $1.3 million.

The diagnosis was Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a severe and sustained form of child abuse in which a parent--almost always a mother--fakes or induces illness in a child to gain attention for herself. Vallarta permanently lost custody of that boy and his older brother, who were adopted by their maternal grandparents.

Vallarta, 31, told the Tribune Wednesday she has never harmed her sons and will fight to regain custody of the baby.

"These allegations are outrageous," Vallarta said. "They keep bringing up the Munchausen thing ... but they never found anything. Yeah, I'm way overprotective. But all I did was love my kids."

Will County State's Atty. Tina Brault said she doesn't know yet whether Vallarta mistreated the baby because the investigation is just starting.

But Brault said that to recommend permanent revocation of custody, the state needs to establish only "risk of harm," based on Vallarta's history and the new pattern of doctor's visits.

"I could prove the [neglect] case now just based on her past," Brault said. "In the first case, we were more reactive. Now, we can be more proactive. We can put these things together before bad things happen."

Brault first prosecuted Vallarta after doctors at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood reported her in 1999 for poisoning her son, then 3, with ipecac, a medicine used to induce vomiting.

Brault said she also wanted to pursue a criminal abuse case against Vallarta, but her supervisor decided against it.

Munchausen--identified in 1977 by a British pediatrician and named after an 18th Century baron who was an inveterate liar--remains a rare and complicated illness to diagnose. Many doctors are loathe to diagnose it, in part because the mothers appear so likable and devoted to their children, but also because it highlights the doctors' inadvertent role in the abuse: ordering invasive tests and performing unnecessary surgeries.

Vallarta's public defenders argued the boy's illnesses were real. But they could not explain why the boy's condition improved so dramatically after he left his mother's home.

Drastic improvement

In 1999, the boy was so sick he was being fed through a stomach tube. Vallarta shopped for coffins at a Joliet funeral home.

By the time Vallarta went to trial in 2000, the child was thriving in his grandparents' care, eating normally, gaining weight and not taking any medicines. The boy now is a healthy, active 8-year-old, authorities said.

The problem with abuse in Munchausen by proxy cases, experts say, is that the mothers rarely admit wrongdoing and often repeat the offense, even when it's likely they will get caught.

Things `didn't add up'

Cradling his 16-pound son in his arms at his Southwest Side home Wednesday, [the baby's father Steve] Coyne said he was shocked when he read the details of Vallarta's first case, because the pattern was similar what was happening to his boy.

Every week or so Vallarta would call with some new medical emergency--fever, diarrhea, vomiting--that required a trip to the doctor's office, hospital and even three trips to a chiropractor.

"A lot of things just didn't add up, and now it all makes sense," said Coyne, 33.

Vallarta blames the arguments with Coyne for her recent troubles. She said the two often disagreed about their son's care, and she denies she took him to the doctor too often.

Vallarta, who has worked on and off as a waitress, said she's changed. She is more religious, has had counseling and is devoted to her baby.

"I didn't do anything to deserve what I'm getting. It's like I'm guilty until I'm proven more guilty," she said. "I won't even be allowed to give him a Christmas present. I will fight for him until the day I die. All I know is I love my son more than anything and he belongs to me."

By all accounts, Stacey Vallarta doted on her ailing toddler, a little boy who
had been in and out of hospitals so many times that his medical bills topped $1 million. For more than two years, doctors could not explain exactly what was wrong with the fair-haired Joliet boy, why he suffered from persistent vomiting and wild weight fluctuations despite an array of tests and treatments. But at some point last summer, medical professionals at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood began to suspect a more sinister diagnosis: Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a severe and sustained form of child abuse in which a parent -- almost always a mother -- fakes or induces illness in a child to gain attention for herself.

The case displayed many of the warning signs of this strange syndrome, named after a world-renowned 18th Century baron who was an inveterate liar. It has proven a complex and controversial diagnosis in the 20 years since its identification. In this case, the signals were an exhaustive medical record that defied explanation; a sympathetic mother with a medical background who sought an unusual amount of attention from doctors; a little boy whose condition only seemed to improve when he was away from his mother.

But it was the results of a single test that transformed these suspicions into
an abuse case that is now playing out in a Will County juvenile courtroom. On
Aug. 6, 1999, medical tests revealed that Vallarta's 3-year-old son had been
given ipecac, a substance that is sold over the counter to induce vomiting in
cases of accidental poisoning.

She became angry with me and the agency I am going through, because "agencies have ripped her off before." She has also been emailing my agency with very rude emails. After she became angry with me because I did not respond to her email within the first 12 hours of her sending it, I knew she and I were not a match. We did not talk about delivery, because it was within hours she was bugging the agency. WOW!!!

i found this surrogate site by googling stacey vallarta's name. please please do not have ANYTHING to do with stacey vallarta-- aka dragonflyz-- aka airstajon-especially when it comes to children or anything to do with her being a surrogate. FACT: stacey's license plate used to be DRGNFY3. FACT: stacey has given birth to four children by four different fathers. FACT: all four children have been removed from stacey by DCFS. I havent been on in awhile, but I wanted to pop in because this was brought to my attention today via email.
I unfortunately, know Airsta/Stacy. She has been to my house. When she was pg w/ her dd, she was considering asking me to care for her dd. This was b4 I knew all about how wacko she was.
She's really nice in person, but OMG talk about multiple personalities.She and I had it out on the phone because she wanted to buy a message board I ran. She told everyone I gave it to her, etc.. and caused a big ruckus, and basically back talked me and talked crap all up and down about me. I was seriously in fear that she would come to my house because she had been there before.

I am glad this was posted because I was just typing out an email to Shannon about her. Has Shannon been notified?

I also wanted to mention that no, she has NOT done surrogacy or egg donation. She probably thought of surrogacy because she knew I was doing it and have been in the process for 3+ yrs, around the time I first met her.
Also wanted to add that she was a member of the cloth diaper board, Diaper Pin, until things started getting fishy and we ran her off there as well!!

Oh and Jon isnt her dh, its her bf. I have lots of good stories she made up about the sale of my board to her. She claims that 'he' emailed me and that I emailed him back. Funny because I didnt get an email. She MADE ONE UP and 'forwarded it' to me. Funny because my email on the supposed email addy from him to me was incorrect, yet she forged a response from 'me' as if I emailed him back!!

Good day everyone. I am not a member of the surrogacy or donation communities. I was directed here from the forum that I frequent, based on research of an individual in our forum that we now belive to be this same Stacey Vallarta.
Definitely stay clear of this individual!!! Our forum is also not part of the S/D community however we do have members that are donors and we also have threads where we discuss parenting/ttc and the like. This individual had been "lurking" on our boards for approximately the last two years and only recently began to post, spending most of her time in the suicide, parenting and children thread(s). Some of her inconsistent claims she has made are:
She was a surrogate but the implant did not "take" and she is now being stalked by the woman she was carrying for. However, around the same time she was supposedly carrying or trying to carry, she was pregnant with her own twins, were were the result of IVF from her husband's frozen sperm, who died 10 years ago from suicide. She had a pregnancy ticker in her forum sig and when someone congratulated her, she messaged them explaining she lost them then promptly changed her sig to reflect she lost her husband and her twins ("violently ripped from [her] womb").
She has also claimed to be a tattoo artist AND a bartender (and goes to work wearing 6 inch stilletos).
She cropped up on stickcam (which many of our members frequent) once with an IV in her arm and another time wearing an oxygen mask. She is also morbidly obese. I too am a large woman, so her "appearance" isn't my point. The point is, from what we're told (specifically from our egg donor friend) that she is not a candidate for surrogacy or donation in her current state.
She has left quite a few of us "creeped out" to say the least, specifically our members who are TTC. She has stated she "loves the smell" of babies and loves to "smoosh them". It's to the point that some of us actually believe she is a candidate for a "cut and run" job, which is why she has some of our TTC'ers on edge. This may sound like an outlandish fear to you, but sure enough, once it was mentioned, she was found to be reading an article on our site regarding a recent occurence of this (i.e. removing/stealing an in utero child).
The questions that are being asked by her of some of our members and the fact that she evades any questions posed to her have left us very uneasy.

She is on twitter as @dragonsandflies. Reading her updates, we find they do not correspond with what was supposedly happening in her life, chronologically (around the 15th of June to the end of June). References to her "family" are actually references (and verbatim, mind you) to posts about her on our forum.

Okay, so at some point during Stacey Vallarta-Schlange's "hacker" outburst on Twitter, her MDS and Yahoo mail logins were mentioned.

When a Mod saw that, her MDS password was changed immediately so her account here would not be compromised.

At least two members (no names will be mentioned) logged into her Yahoo account. For shits and giggles, although it was not mentioned, an attempt was made to log into her gmail account with the same password and it worked (****ing twit). The passwords have since been changed and there is no longer access.

Here is the info that was shared with me:

Her and [baby daddy #4] were having problems and started breaking up sometime around March. However she still lived with him.
Her parents, her mother especially, are SICK OF HER ****. In one e-mail her mother even said to her "Why couldn't you just go to school and get a good job, get off the baby train and live a normal life" (or something to that effect)
There was NO mention of her 1st husbands sperm (who wasn't her husband at all) nor the fact that she was pregnant with HIS twins. The whole thing was completely fabricated
When her mother found out she was offering her eggs and womb on Surro sites, SHE FLIPPED, and knew it was going to end up bad
When Ss asked her mother for copies of texts because she was having issues with the IPs, her mother again chided her for getting involved with this, questioned whether she was pregnant at all (going back and forth with her as to why she couldn't tell her what the doctor said about the pregnancy - she didn't believe Ss either) and then stated "You Got Caught?" and later "You're going to try and keep it, aren't you?"
Her mom tells her over and over how much they love her and nothing's going to change that but they cannot take her **** anymore
She was posting to a Parents/Expectant Twins board and there claimed that Twin B died on 6/22 and Twin A a week before that. The 6/22 dod was also in her sig. Here it was 6/26 with Twin A passing TWO weeks prior
As early as 6/24 (two days before or two days after she "miscarried", depending which date you go by) she was answering ads to be a Surro again.
Her claims to Ms. Wasson that she no longer dealt with Surrogacy reps because they screwed her over on a "journey" and scared the IPs away is false. She never got that far. They dropped her because they did a background check, including a google search, and found the M-by-P stuff and dropped her. When she complained they stated that she was not truthful with them by not divulging in this and thus had voided her contract with them (they did fly her to California or somewhere for testing, on their dime). Her response? "You still owe me money"
She began negotiations with another couple just days after being outted here and had contact with them as recently as Wednesday. An e-mail was sent to this couple with the links found in this thread, to protect them from her.
Stacey Wasson (You Know Who) was not harrasing her in anyway - they had a great relationship as of December 2008 and things began to sour in March (around the time things were ending with [baby daddy # 4]) when she just started being outright c.u.n.t.y with them because they would not start forking over shitloads of cash

NO ONE hacked her **** yesterday - it was another attempt to turn her mess around to gain sympathy and/or wipe her slate clean. Remember, she only divulged the yahoo login - not the gmail. It was just a fluke that the dumbass had the same password for both. She even forwarded all her important emails from the yahoo account to the gmail account AND changed the sig on her yahoo account so all emails that were sent from it contained a disclaimer that it was hacked by a Chicago Police officer and a useless homely housewife, in an attempt to abandon the yahoo account. She orchestrated the whole ****ing thing. She is a truly sick individual who needs serious help. Because she no longer has access to her kids, her M by P has morphed into straight on Munchausen's.

I can't believe she still found a couple :( We need to put together a fund where the SMO warning thread will pop up first when people google the topics listed in it.

Yes, she has scammed at least two other couples that I know of in the past couple of months. Problem is, they won't come here and post themselves with the info, story, etc. :(
