Without mentioning any names or wanting to cause problems here, I just want to warn members of something that could cause future problems.

Please do yourself a favor and change your passwords from time to time and DO NOT use the same password for various boards.

My computer needed to be restored and I needed to re-log into a few of the boards I belong to(I was logged in forever) Suprisingly upon logging into a certain forum my password had been changed. To make matters worse I was notified that several attempt were made by someone other than myself to access some of my email accounts. I do have some IP# and I will be looking into who is responsible. I have a pretty good idea who it is, but I will not name names, so please do not ask who it is. Shannon knows so that is all that matters

Again, please do yourself a favor and change your passwords regularly. I have already brought this to Shannon's attention. There are banned members that would love nothing but to gain access here if only to read and I would hate to see an innocent member take the fall for something they are unaware of.

I had this same problem with another board as well asn changed all my passowrds and I also got the shut down for trying to log in to much to my email it sucks to be snooped on in that fashion.. Hopefully you caught it before you had any real trouble..

Glad you found it Heidi for others in case you want want to change your password and aren't sure go to user CP click on it. On the left hand side of the screen it will say in a box edit email and password click on that to change it...........

How can these people keep hacking into our accounts? Do they have a program or something? I haven't ever hacked anything so I don't understand but if that is the case would changing our passwords frequently really help?

I have actually been suspecting that this has been happening to me lately, here at SMO and one of my email addy's. Guess it's time for me to change my password.

As a closing statement, I want to say once again that here on SMO, myself nor any mod has access to anyone's passwords. If you lose your password, you can't get it through the boards-it will send you a link or something to create a new one.
