I remember how it was giving birth as a surrogate...of course I had my family, but it meant SO much to also have wonderful people who knew what I was going thru and understood my feelings and emotions....

In saying that, I was wondering what some of you thought of host city groups that lended support to IP families/surros during that time. For example, when Julie was here in my area, I took her surrogate a basket of goodies and her a gift for her beautiful baby girl

Not to say that EVERYONE has to give something materialistic, but I think even a small card and visit SPEAKS a thousand words....what are your thoughts? Should there be HOST CITY groups of supporters that support people who come to their areas?

Just an example, BUT for the sake of speaking say we are talking about the DFW area...

Someone shoots me a email sayin they will be delivering in the area. If I am not avail, I will shoot out an email to the other girls to ask who would be. Whoever is, will then get the information and be ready to lend support as needed to that surrogate/IP family that is in town. Either by way of JUST visiting, VISITING and a card, or any other ideas (cards are cheap...LOL)

Any other ideas?

We can call it the "SURROGATE FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP"- DFW chapter
