I have a serious question about the signature line guidelines. I am not asking in a snarky manner at all.

The guidelines say 420x194, I think. (someone can correct me if I'm wrong)
Say your 420 isn't quite 420. Say it's only 380. Does that mean that you can have more on the 194 pixel side?
What I mean is can it be 380x240? Or some other thing similiar?

I have seen some that are like the numbers I used as an example which is why I'm asking.

I'm not even sure if I am making any sense.

Quick REAL question for moderators/Shannon... I make siggies and I don't want to get it wrong.

If a signature line "fits" the size requirements but is a portrait instead of landscape lay-out, is it within requirements?

In case that's photographer speak for anyone else...
Does it matter if the siggy is 194 pixels wide and 420 high (portrait)?
Or should everyone's be 420 wide and 194 high (landscape)?

Tried again on 6/7 and We did it! Beta at 7.75dp6dt was 132! Beta at 10.75dp6dt was 549! Final beta at 17.75dpt was 6802!!

I do believe some of the moderators do.

Dhalia posted that a siggy she made that was over by 2 px has been deleted. I'm just saying if you're going to be the poster child for self moderation then you should be within the guidelines yourself.

I think the parameters were set that way for a reason... example if you had one that was 190x420 it wouldn't be the same thing even though it's still the same numbers.

Bobbie~I think you answered Beth's question.
My question was if it's under on one side can it be over on the other side?

I know I'm going to sound like a royal butt when I say this, although I promise you I don't mean to, but I didn't say that.

I set my siggies to 192 at the most. Someone had one of my siggies at the same time as a ticker, and the siggy was removed. The ticker still remains. They've since replaced it with something new. I just wanted to let anyone else know, I'm happy to resize if they'd like to keep a siggy I made for them.

That is what i answered only to the extreme... I thikn it has to be under or exact on both numbers.

I don't know where she came up with those dimensions, but surely somewhere for some kind of reason... So I would think they'd have to be under or exact. I like to know how things work, and why.... I'm not a just because I said so girl so I'd love to know the scoop as well!

I don't think this thread is even on their radar so I doubt we'll ever know!

That's what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure.
Thanks for answering though. You're right, we may never know. Since I don't have a siggy and normally don't have one then I guess it shouldn't matter to me. Sometimes it does though.

Glad I saw this thread, my ticker was deleted and I was just gonna put it back but now I realize its because the two combined were too big.

I've had this siggy for quite a while now, can someone make me a new one? Maybe two (same just different wording) since in a few weeks to a month I will actually have these kids?

ETA: Or if someone would tell me how they typically find the pictures/backgrounds for their siggies, I would love to try one myself since I have nothing better to do on bedrest. Lol!

I had the same question for Shannon earlier having seen that my siggy was reported and got fixed, before seeing that you ladies asked about this too, but no answer yet. I have a hard time making a siggy on the site I use, in being able to keep it at the exact approved dimensions - mine do tend to be a little taller, but a little less on the width though. I'll let you all know what she says as soon as I hear.

BTW, Shannon has been doing some major work on the site lately, so she was taking care of signatures that were of no question on being too large. Kym fixed mine for me be removing my little blurb on the bottom after seeing that someone reported it, since I wasn't around to see and fix it myself. Rest assured, I am expected to follow the rules too!!
