HUGE WARNING! Surro and IPs Scam Agency

I was contacted by an agency asking if I wanted to be matched with a surrogate and this link was in the instant message http://www.freewebs.com/ussurrogacy/index.htm
I went there and things didn't seem right, spelling, no answers to contract questions. I realized this was the same woman who contacted us to be a TS for us! Then I found (on an unmentionable board) a whole thread about these two women who have just started this supposed agency. If I could link you I would but it is against tou.

The persons who own/operate this agency are trying to scam Surros and IPs, are Crystal from AZ, a disabled woman who is also mentally handicapped. The other woman Chris is from MINN. She is well known for her shenanigans on *** and many other places.

Chris also goes by AngelNamedChris, Second Thoughts, Charisma, Christine, Christina, Tina , Maxsmom68, Shortyindahouse, Shortyindahouse2, baby_angel_1968 and Jen Nelson or Jen, Jennifer. There are many more I'm sure.

Jen Nelson aka Chris also runs a yahoo support board for surrogates. She claims she has had to TS surrogacies completed, yet she is looking for IPs as a first time TS. AngelNamedChris also posts on Fertile Thoughts as a birth mom but the fact is her children live in FL with her sister as she lost custody of them because of the addiction she has. She gave the youngest one up for adoption after she couldn't take care of her on her own. :(

Please do not fall for her antics, she is supposed to be in rehab for alcoholism but I have spoken with her and she does not sound sober to me the two times I have been in contact with her.

I thought all surrogates and intended parents should be warned. If I am not supposed to put the link to her scamming agency please let me know and I apologize in advance.

I am hearing of so many people who has had an ordeal with this woman that it is really scary to think some poor IPs will actually fall for her scam. How sad it would be.

I have no personal knowledge of this situation or any other regarding this agency or individuals. That being said, I looked at the website and it is at best, illiterate, and I would never consider working with such an establishment. JMHO.

I have to play devils adovate here I think. Last month sometime I got a reply to my ad from the person running this "agency". Her name is Crystal. There were soo many words mispelled in her email. I wrote her back and politely told her she may want to spell check first as she may get rude emails back from others and to spell check on her site. There were words like "comfortable" spelled "convertible". She wrote me back saysing she has dislexia and there was supposed to be someone helping her through a program that helps disabled people, but that she didn't do her job and got fired. I offered to help her fix the spelling of some things on her site so it would look "better". At the time I offered to help her she was the only one doing this. She had given me the password to her site so I could go and fix things. I fixed a lot of the spelling of things, obvious mispellings that jumped out at me, but I realized it would take entirely too much time to go through the whole site, check every word for spelling and her grammar as well. So I didn't do it all. Shortly thereafter I got back in contact with an IF I was going to work with who was in search of a TS. I know there was one TS ad on her site and I wrote her an email asking her how exactly she would help someone. What would they get for their $3,000? Needless to say the answer I got was not enough to satisfy me so I never told him about the TS on there. At that time she told me she had a new "partner". And I just left it at that. I think Crystal has a good heart but she is just not thinking. She thinks she has what it takes to run an agency and match people while she herself is still searching for IP's. I told her it would probably be best if she finds IP's, goes through the process and knows what is what before she tries to do stuff for others. I wish I could have just told her off from the beginning, but I am not like that.

I was left with such a bad feeling about surrogacy that I am taking a break from looking for a GS and pursuing other avenues before I move ahead, if ever. Thank goodness the relationship ended with both of them before any money came out of my pocket.

Crystal answered an ad I placed on one of the surro boards. Once I figured out her typos were because of dyslexia it was no big deal (but really was hard to figure out what she was trying to convey sometimes). But red flags came up when she started to get really pushy and demanding. Since she lives in Arizona there were some potential problems with delivering there. She was more than willing to travel out of state for delivery but my concern, as always, was what if she delivered early or there were medical problems which prevented her from travelling to deliver? She then insisted we could get a pre-birth order so I called the lawyer she spoke to and he told me we could not get one due to our embryos being from DE. She then got very nasty with me and told me I was on a list of IPs to stay away from. Fine, I'm just glad I cut off all communication with her at that point.

Immediately afterward, I was contacted by Chris/shortynthehouse/maxsmom68 or whatever she is going by these days. Her story just never added up to me, but I was very honest with her in the beginning about what I was looking for in a GS and she was also very interested in only being a TS at the time. I never told her I was interested in her being a surrogate for us. So we mainly chatted back and forth about our own searches and she didn't push to be a surrogate for me until towards the end. The funny thing is that I told her all about my encounter with Crystal (and what a bad experience I had) and she said she had never heard of her. Hmm, I wonder! All of a sudden she started getting demanding and wanting me to use her as my surrogate. The whole situation made me very uncomfortable to say the least. Things just didn't add up.

Sorry for this being so long but I just feel preyed upon. If I decide to jump back into the surrogate search I sure won't post an ad again.

I am so sorry to hear of how they treated you. I feel bad when I hear of other surrogates that treat IP's that way. You'd think they would be nice to someone who they could "potentially" carry a baby for. I wish you luck on your journey, which ever way that may go and that you find a great GS.

Ignore them............I would...........one has been banned from surro boards for scamming even. Many other agencies out there if you need/want one.

yet another name to add to the list. i was instant messaged by this one teddie_8853. i was told to visit the site and it is the same one....http://www.freewebs.com/ussurrogacy/ i had a feeling right away when i was told her name is chris. its such a shame that we have to be so leary about who we talk to, its like you cant trust anyone for a while. this shouldnt be such an ordeal.

This surrogate has been met by several potential IPs. She has been banned from all the reputable surrogacy boards for multiple IDs. She has stalked several surros and gone as far as to contact their agencies trying to discredit them if they didnt work with her.

No one is "throwing stones" without a lot of history. Many of these women have been here for months and years and know the history of the ones they are warning about.

This forum is not to be taken lightly. It is meant as a warning to protect newcomers to the surrogacy world.

I have had dealings with them as well and I would strongly warn everyone, surrogates and IP's, to be very careful! They are very demanding will not take 'NO' for an answer!!
