IP's and surro's beware

Hi there,

I am a second time surro and am writing to all of you to warn you about an agency who unfortunately I can't say their name because they have told sherry they will sue her if her name was put on the boards again! See announcement board.
However her agency is in Northern Cali. and you can very easily find out who she is and what she is up to by going to everything surrogacy.com and looking at their boards. You can find this agency under the recommendations of attorney, agencies etc, and look for pages 1,2,3,and 4. page 3 is the best and most recent of her doings.
I warn you of her because she has a history of not compensating her surrogates! I gave birth 16 weeks ago and she owes me over $17,000, I know of 2 other surrogates she has also done this too as well. She also cheats the IP's. She never sends checks out ASAP as she promises. She claims things get lost in the mail, they never return calls, emails etc. They lie all the time! They never answer the phone etc! Please protect yourself and don't go with this company!
I now have to sue to get the money that is rightfully mine.
Check with the BBB before you go with an agency and ask for recommendations.
Never go with an agency that handles their own escrow you will get screwed out of a lot of money.

I too have been ripped off. I am currently owed over 5,000. And in 2 weeks it will double.. I hope people see this and are able to find out about them before it is too late. They take such a wonderful thing and make it into something else.

I am so sorry the witch Nanette is doing this to you. Why she does this is beyond me. I hope you get your check ASAP.
I am still waiting for my check as you know. I can't believe that My surro baby is already 5 months old and I still have recieved NOTHING since my DECEMBER expenses.
I also think that it is BS that we can't mention her agency name on this site because she told Sherry she would sue her. So every one please access the announcement page and look for an agency name on or about December or January 13th.
Please don't do buisness with this agency! However if you would like to call them and tell them to pay the 4 surrogates they owe money to, please do so!

Hi All,

I am an IM to a beautiful baby boy born 01/04 via gestational surrogacy. I used this agency. My son is over 5 months old, and I am still waiting for this agency to refund me the remaining ~2K from my parent fund. I've left them several voice mails and sent several e-mails asking them to respond ASAP and none of my phone calls or e-mails were returned. My contract with this agency says they will refund any remaining money to me 60 business days after the birth. It has been over 120 business days, lots of unreturned phone calls and e-mails, no refund.

This agency also advertises that they are upfront about all costs. My husband and I deposited the required amount into our parent fund (managed by this agency) and when our GC was 20 weeks pregnant, they demanded an extra $5K, in case my husband and I both died before the birth of our son. My husband and I are in perfect health, we couldn't believe this request. This agency said they wouldn’t pay our GC until we deposited the additional $5K. We couldn’t believe they said that, and wrote it to us in an e-ma We had more than adequate funds in our account (still have a ~$2K balance after all expenses are paid).

In the end, we did NOT give them the additional $5K. We had our attorney provide legal wording stating our estate would honor any bills if both of us should die prior to the birth. We told the agency if they did not pay our GC we would consider that breach of contract and take the money out of escrow and pay our GC ourselves. I’ve heard from other IM’s and apparently this agency regularly contacts the IPs at about 20 weeks demanding additional funds be placed in the escrow account. They ask 5K more for a low risk singleton pregnancy with the IPs being in-state, and the figure goes up if it is a multiple pregnancy and the parents are out-of-state or out-of-country.

Both I and our GC had to call the agency for each payment. The agency would always say the check was in the mail, and they were having problems with the post office. Finally, our GC's husband or mother would have to stop by the agency office in person to pick up the check. That is the only way she every got paid anywhere near to the dates in the contract.

On the contrary, the first of every month all the agencies expenses were deducted from our escrow account, ASAP. They never had a problem paying themselves on time.

We had a wonderful GC, and maintain a friendship with her and her family. They are coming to visit us this weekend. Thank goodness our GC felt comfortable enough to share the issues she was having with this agency. We banded together and made sure GC got all her paychecks including final payments.

I agree with Bree, don't work with an agency who manages the escrow or parent fund. It is a recipe for disaster, for both the IPs and GC’s. The only the agency wins in this arrangement.

Also, if you have problems with an agency please report them to the better business bureau. I just sent in my complaint. If everyone with issues complain to the bbb, others are more likely to stay away from them. The website to register a complaint for this agency is:

Your story sounds like my IP's!

The first complaint is made by my IP's! The surrogacy was very stressful and payments were ALWAYS late! Even when my IP's called. We weren't supposed to talk about finances, and if we hadn't there would have been thousands of dollars that just disappeared!

I'm sorry you have gone thru all of this, it really is sad!

Just thought I would update my situation alittle. Well the agency owner has again breached our contract. She refuses to send my payments. I am currently owed over 5k. She refuses to return phone calls or emails. This woman is evil and will have bad karma coming her way. The contract is black and white and she is a fraud. This company is trying to get me to sign paperwork to receive my compensation. It is already late but yet I am to sign and return ASAP. They are horrible. I am so very angry about this whole situation.. Oh and if you are reading this and you know who you are, I will do whatever it takes to get what is owed to me. If you are with this agency please contact one of us girls on this post ASAP!!!!!

Has anyone thought about filing criminal charges. Talk with the Feds about her...She sounds like someone who is extorting funds for a child. By telling the parents at 20 weeks of pregnancy that they will stop paying the GC which will cause a breach of the GC's contract then in essence your agency is extorting you. My biggest suggestion is to pick up the phone book and utilize the blue pages. Contact the Federal building in your area and get all of the IPs and Surros together and send her behind to jail. If you are really lucky you can get them to reduce it down to state charges that way she can serve hard time.

tcohee - Check with the Better Business Bureau before you go with an agency. That should help. Also, if you read much here, you will get an idea of which agencies people are happy with.

I checked before I went with this company and it had not listed anything. Now it list they are unsatisfactory because of the amounts of complaints but they did not have that when I started to work with them. The best thing is to post the agency and get feed back from others.
