Default How much do you include??

I have been thinking(just a little) about placing an ad and I was reading over a few of the ones on there-!! So what do you tell right up front? Comp? Reduction/termination? Marital status? Employment status? How many children/pregnancies? Experienced or not? Willingness to travel? BMI? Ht/Wt? What do you think?

My thoughts are to definitely include things like if you're experienced, location, how many children, etc. when it comes to the first e-mail though I think it's best to lay out all the other stuff right off the bat if you didn't in the ad. That's things like comp/fees, termination and s/r (if you are willing then any requirements you have for that), travel for delivery or not, physical stats so they know for their clinic, and any other deal breakers that are important to you. By doing this at least in the first e-mail it gets the ugly uncomfortable stuff out of the way and those are the things that truly determine if you can match or not anyway. Some people claim they like to get to know each other a little first so it doesn't seem so businesslike. The problem with that is if you have things you absolutely can't work out that don't come up until after you get "attached" then you have to walk away from someone you really came to like. If these things are agreeable then you can go on to the get to know you part.

Those are all important to an IP, I would also suggest mentioning whether you have surrogacy-friendly insurance. Also, whether you have had C-Sect or not as some clinics have requirements about that.

    Good luck!

As IPs we appreciated ads that had plenty of information and not a lot of "filler." (We actually worked with an agency both journeys, but I also read a lot of ads during the matching process.)

IPs know you love your kids, we know you want to give the gift of life, we know you can't imagine what it is like to be infertile, we know you had effortless pregnancies, etc., but at the beginning what we really need to know is stuff like your experience, your expected comp, your positions on the deal breakers, your physical stats, if you have insurance, etc. I think the same goes when IPs are posting ads - list the nitty gritty and leave the personality stuff for after contact is made.

After placing a few ads over the years the very last one I ever placed I included # of pregnancies, my comp preference and other pertinent info so the responses I got were mostly already on the same page as I was. A lot of agencies will respond to any ad even if it says no agencies please and some PIPs don't read all the way or understand the abbreviations. For the most part it worked out well for me though.

I completely agree. Most of that stuff probably starts to sound fake after a while since it all sounds about the same. I know for me it gets that way reading IP ads. Many of them have a common "theme" to them. I'm the type that thinks some of the big stuff should be in the ad but since it's what truly counts in making or breaking a match. It seems most don't go about it that way though so that's why I always advise to at least get it out of the way in the first e-mail.

I hate it when it's obvious someone (agency or IP) clearly has not read the whole ad or just ignored what you took the time to put in it. If it's clear they didn't understand something that's no biggie though and I can look past that.

I posted an ad a few weeks ago and I was suprised by how many people didn't even read it all the way. I clearly put that I was looking to be a TS via home insems and had one lady respond "you sound like a great GS, but what do you mean by home insems? We have a fertility Dr."
