I had placed an ad on SMOs classifieds under adoption. We are a homestudy approved family and looking to adopt. We have also explored both GS and TS, which is how I've come to know these forums.
Through my ad, I was contacted by a lady who has a baby due in June through a TS in Virginia. She is interested in "referring" me to her TS to adopt said baby because she cannot afford to pay the attorneys involved to complete the legal steps to parent this baby. By referring, she means she would like me to reimburse her for all of the expenses she paid to the TS (as a referral fee, so to speak) so she can try to do IVF herself.
As far as I understand, she is not married and has no biological ties to the baby but does have a TS contract in place. It seems to me that she is trying to "sell" this baby. I do not know if the TS involved knows about the impending legal snafu, which is why I am posting this.
The person who contacted me does have a sordid history here on SMO and quite the internet footprint. I am not concerned about her so much as the TS, and, of course, the baby who is due soon.
