Acupuncture- anyone?

So we just found out yesterday that our first transfer failed... needless to say IPs and I are sad, but ready to start my second cycle. The re suggested acupuncture. I've never done it before and I don't ask her if she wanted me to do it before, during or after cycle or all three. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it, and if it actually helps fertility or just relaxes you to not stress about it so much. Cause this being my first cycle I was major stressed and I don't want to do anything, however unintentional, to make this not work! Thanks!

Out of the 3 cycles it took us to get pregnant with this pregnancy I had it done with transfer #2. I could definitely feel the acupuncture doing something in my uterus and it did make me very relaxed. We transferred 1 and unfortunately even with acupuncture it didn't take. I know other surros here have great results with it and I'd do it again.

The acupuncturist came in before the transfer and again after so I was at the RE's for a couple of hours.

I had accupuncture with my first GS and I did get pregnant that transfer (our 1st transfer). I liked it, it was relaxing for sure. Not sure how much it "helped" as I've had many cycles since then and 2 other successful transfers without it, but it was definitely relaxing (I had it during cycling and the last one was a day or two before transfer if I remember right, no sessions after transfer)...

I had acupuncture done right before our second transfer. It was amazing, and I was definitely 100 times more relaxed than during our first transfer. Unfortunately, though, our cycle wasn't successful.

I have had acupuncture done with every transfer. I have gotten pregnant every time but not every pregnancy was viable. I love it and will continue to do acupuncture unless it is not recommended by my RE.

Thank you all for the replies. My re said that it def relaxes you, which will help anyway. Does it hurt? I don't hate needles, but was just wondering thanks again!

I didn't feel it except on the very tops of my feet at the bone and in my inner ear and even then it was a quick little stick. You're taking IM shots as surro, those are way worse!

We did acupuncture per the suggestion of our RE. Our clinic sees an increase in success rate when acupuncture is done. I also read another clinic's research that noted a 9% increase in success. I was told that it helps increase the blood flow to the uterus, encouraging implantation.

The transfer I did using acupuncture worked and we'll do it again next transfer (sibling project). Good luck!

LOVE acupuncture. Had it this transfer, and got a "1st trimester package" of 12 visits. I ended up with like 6 saved up, and just started back last week for labor prep! LOVE IT!

I really became a believer when I asked if they could help with some jaw pain (TMJ) I had. After ONE SESSION, it was 90% better (relaxed my jaw muscle) and after z2, I haven't had any jaw locks in months!

Do some searches on it, because I know this has been asked a hundred times on here. I did it and it didn't work. I think I did a total of 6 sessions, 2 on my transfer day.

Same for me except that they cured my cold in one day and got rid of my severe estrogen headaches.

I'm an acupuncture fan too. Years ago, I was having wonky/irregular cycles and after $$$$$$ worth of testing, an endocrinologist suggested daily steroids (for life, mind you). A couple of acupuncture treatments and poof! No issues. So that's what won me over.

We did a treatment the day before transfer and then again immediately after transfer. The first one was with electricity! The transfer was successful. IM also did a whole series of treatments during stim.

This time around, my new IM has started treatments (about 6 weeks out). I'll have two the day of transfer-- right before and right after. Hoping for success again!

I have had a successful transfer both times with/without the accupuncture I cant say how much it helped but 1st transfer IM did not want to pay for it so no 2nd transfer we did it it was relaxing so I can go either way it may or may not happen for the 3rd its up to my IM I had one session right before the transfer.
