Default 5w3d and spotting....I'm so scared

Around 10:00 this morning I had some moderate cramping and just discovered a little spotting? Should I be expecting the worst? I'm 5w3d today and have my first u/s tomorrow to check sac placement. I'm so scared!!

Notify your RE and IP's. I'm sure they will say take it easy and stay hydrated unless the bleeding gets heavier, and then you may need to be evaluated. It's great that you have an u/s tomorrow. With my first surro baby, I bled off/on for 11 weeks. It's so much more common with IVF. What was your last progesterone level? Sometimes if that is too low, they will want you to increase it.

if you are on suppositories, those can cause cervical irritation and some spotting as well. Hope everything is ok!

I had cramping and spotting (ETA- It was more like heavy bleeding as opposed to spotting) at 6 weeks and was absolutely terrified. It was late at night and only me and DS at home since pretty much everyone I knew was in Hawaii for a wedding!

Like you, I was lucky that I already had an u/s scheduled for the next day and there were two babies with heartbeats doing just fine. I had 3 pages of people here telling me it was normal and they were all right

Hang in there, try and relax if at all possible today.

I had spotting at 5w5d. I went to my OB that very day and saw a beautiful little heartbeat. I was not on suppositories or anything and didn't have an SCH. It was just random spotting. That baby boy turned 2 years old this week!

    Sending positive thoughts your way.

I had off and on bleeding for awhile (SCH) with my most recent GS pregnancy but it never affected the babies and all was well. Hang in there!!

I had some menstrual-type cramping and red spotting at 5w6d. I called my NP and she told me to go to the ER only if the cramping got worse or the bleeding got worse (as in soaking through pads). I did go in the following morning for an u/s to make sure everything was okay (my cramping stopped overnight, and the spotting stopped too), and we saw 2 sacs, but only 1 had a fetal pole...the other was completely empty, so they said it was most likely a vanishing twin that caused it. I haven't had any problems since, and we have 1 healthy little boy in there.

I had bleeding around the 5 week mark with my first surrogacy. I think it is pretty common, though doesn't make it any less scary when it is happening to you. Hang in there.

Proudly pumped 5 weeks for my surrobubs!

I had bleeding with most of my pregnancies especially the triplets. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. Turns out bleeding/spotting is very common, yet scary in with IVF.

Hope tomorrow brings you some peace.

Thanks for all of the encouraging posts. I came home from work (only about 45 minutes early) and am now just taking it easy. I walked to Labcorp and had my blood drawn (there's one at the hospital I work at). I should get the results early this evening. I'm hoping my bets is good. It was 303 last Wednesday and I haven't had it checked since. They're checking estrogen and progesterone too

Gestational sac and yolk sac present. Looks like it was a small sch. Still waiting for the official word everything is okay from my clinic. Monitoring RE wouldn't go that far but I think it is,

With both of my own children I had spotting around 6 1/2 weeks. They could never find a reason and both babies were fine.
I am so glad to hear that your u/s went well. Keep us posted!
