    Default Acupuncture cost

I'm getting acupunture done before my transfer on Saturday. My IPs are international so they won't be going with me. My question is - if you had acupunture done did you pay for it out of your monthly expense fee or is it considered a medical procedure and your IPs paid for it separately? I looked in my contract and of course it doesn't say anything about acupuncture. I figure it must fall under the miscellaneous expenses or medical expenses section.

    Thanks!

We asked our surro to have it and we paid for it. If they asked for it, they should pay for it. Good luck to you!

    "Dear IP's,
Here's the information on the acupuncture clinic. They'll do (procedure) that should help with (issue). The cost for the procedure is (amount); do you want to pay them directly with your credit card or would you prefer to reimburse me?

Yep, medical procedure. If they want it, they pay for it. Mine did, and then paid for a package that gave me like 12 sessions for $700.

We had acupuncture 2x/week during the cycle, before transfer, and after transfer. Our clinic recommended it and my IM asked that I do it. My IPs paid for all costs with their credit card on file.

However, if they didn't request it, I'd have paid for it myself.

    I second Tamara's suggestion.

    Good luck!

    Thanks Gina!

I think yes, they should pay for it if they want you to do it. However, they may not realize it depending on how it was phrased so you need to be clear. For example had you said, "Oh I hear accupuncture helps i want to try that" and they said "Sure go ahead." They may not realize the implication that they need to pay for it, which they do. So just be clear and good luck!!

I think they should pay. For myself and my IFs, we had a reimbursement agreement, so they just reimbursed (or rather, I had access to a bank acct to get money out in advance as well, if needed). We didn't do a monthly fee.
