The stress is really, really bad and I am worried it is only going to get worse before it (hopefully) gets better. I have a high-stress job and I thought I was pretty good at managing it, but wham! It seems stupid to be this key'd up now that things are finally falling into place (after waiting so long), but my guts are in knots, my face looks like a pepperoni pizza, and I am awake at night staring at the ceiling. I am also super-excited, happy, and everything, but SO worried and afraid to let myself get too happy... Is it just a relief to be finally done with the transfer and happy to be pupo, or was it rather sad too because it happens outside of you? Have you figured out a way to combat the stress?

I have no doubt that when we get a child it will all be worth it and Beth is a truly lovely person with a very loving heart, I am just trying to figure out how many kleenex boxes and tubes of clearasil I should be stocking up on for the next couple of weeks.
Kate: Aside from the nurse asking me why I was there (once I told her I wasn't on the receiving end of the transfer), it wasn't too bad. No real sadness on my end, but I was emotional. To have finally reached transfer day, after two years of excessive saving and researching, was a little overwhelming. Plus, there's a lot of hopes and dreams tied up in this--not just ours, but also those of our GS, our family, and our friends on our behalf. There was some nervousness and butterflies in my stomach (I didn't sleep well at all the night before), but I figured that would happen. But above everything, I felt excited and happy and hopeful. I had a silly grin on my face most of the day, and I couldn't sit or stand still at all. <----(That was me, the whole morning!)

As for the Clearasil and Kleenex, I think some of the blame should go to your cycling meds. The process for an IM is full of emotion anyway; combine that with all the hormones involved in an egg retrieval and you're bound to feel overwhelmed and stressed out. To be honest, I'd be more concerned if you weren't keyed up.

I'm certainly hoping with everything I've got that our transfer worked, but I also know that IVF is a crapshoot--which means I'm not assuming that it did. Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best has gotten me through a lot in life, so I'm just going to keep doing that.

If you want to chat off the boards, feel free to send me an e-mail any time.

Oh, and one teeny, tiny, little thing: there isn't an "r" in my name. Don't feel bad--people do it all the time. But since we're going to be in this group through January (see, positive thinking!), I figured that I should correct you now rather than later.

Grateful to Delphi for my fabulous siggy

Tisha, (thanks for correcting me early on with your name--I would have been very embarassed several months from now!)
Thanks for the reply. I really want to look forward to this (and i am), I just worry because there is so much out of my control and it is such a crapshoot. I am so glad your transfer day was such a happy day and I hope to report the same soon! Thanks again

As promised - much to obsess over.....

A pic of last night's FRER - well after it dried (woke up this AM to double check it). Is it an evap? It a a pinkish color to it? OSOM this AM with FMU is neg so far - but with my last journey I had to wait for those to dry completely before I really saw them. So.....anybody had an evap with FRER? I've heard the evaps are grey if nothing else....

I thought I read that FRER aren't valid, per the company, if you take them apart? But what do I know? My surro eyes suck. I never see the lines when everyone else does!

    thank God for Google. haha

U/S and blood work Thursday Morning, and hopefully I will know more of a transfer date by Thursday afternoon, since we are doing a frozen transfer, I think its just based on when my lining and bloodwork is good...

I love reading how different everyones med protocals are... does anyone else find it interesting that they seem to vary per clinic??
