    Default steam mops

I need a good suggestion. I am over the shark's. I've owned two in the last 3 years. We have hard water and it will build up and clog them. Although I am pretty sure this is a problem I will have with all steam mops.

I've been seeing the commercial for the bissel steam and sweep? Anyone have that?

I have a bissel. Not steam and sweep but I imagine any time you are sucking up dirtt, there's a greater chance in getting clogged so if you already have a problem with clogs, id be weary of this!

I love my bissel steam mop. It was one of the cheaper ones. I need to buy more pads for it though

I have the Shark Vac n Steam and it's ok for us. I thought the Bissell worked the same... just ok. And before that, a Shark steam (no vac)... just ok. The water in this city is awful so I use distilled water in it... and the humidifier, and iron, and anything else that will get junked up if I don't. But... I'm still not sold on the ability of a steam mop to clean - I use it because I don't want to use chemicals on the floor with a toddler toddling around. When he's done semi-crawling/playing on/licking!!! the floor maybe I can change over to something that has more cleaning power. I feel like I sterilize the dirt/grime the dogs bring in and spread it evenly over the floor. It's maddening!

I got the Bissel EnviroSteamer (I think it's called) because it gets the hottest and I've been very happy with it. No sweeping though.

I had a shark steam mop, and now my vac n steam has bit the dust! Since I'm too lazy to use purified or distilled water I think I'll just find a cheap steam mop. (no one even uses the "vac" part) I can't really keep buying a $200 mop every year and a half!

I think our bissle was $64 and lately I've seen coupons for a $10 rebate in the newspaper for bissle products under $75 and more of a rebate for products with a higher price tag.

I have tons (like, 3500 sq ft) of laminate & tile, and while I like the enviro steamer that I have, I find that to be the "quick clean" thing... For real cleaning, I LOOOOVE my Hoover floormate hard floor cleaner. I have owned 3 over 10 years+ and I will replace them forever & ever...

Is the hoover floormate a carpet machine?

Nevermind... If I kept reading I'd have figured it out.

Does hard water build up on it?

I have very hard water and haven't had any hard water issues - it works like a carpet cleaner (squirts cleaning solution/water from the clean tank and slurps it up into the dirty tank, with scrub brushes working the floor). Mine broke due to me washing the tanks in the dishwasher (they warped) the and a seal leaking on my 2nd one - after like 3 years of use.

I think I am going to go with the cheaper version of this steam mop on amazon! I have only four very small areas that need moped so I think it will work well! It's only like $50 bucks!

We Had the bissell steam mop and it just died. I have 3300 square feet of hard wood and I hate it with a passion. We also have big windows so there is tons of light and I see streaks when I mop, it drives me nuts.

I have been thinking about the vacuum one too but I just wonder if mud is going to be the end result? I left for vacation without mopping, and its all I can think about.

I apologize in advance for my spelling. I'm not stupid I just can't spell.

I have a shark, which I like, but for everyday cleaning I use my Norwex mop. I love it! There is nothing to plug in and no worry about hard water clogging anything. It just uses a microfiber pad with plain water. There is a dry pad for "sweeping" the floor and the wet pad. You can use it on any type of floor and just wash the pad after a few uses. It's super easy and quick with no streaks.
