AFM ~ On Monday morning (4/23), I started bleeding like crazy in the shower. It was like someone turned a faucet on. I managed to get out and get to the toilet when more blood poured out as well as several large clots. I went to the ER and they told me I was hemorrhaging again.

They did an ultrasound and found out there were several products from delivery still in my uterus. They moved me up to a room in the OB/GYN dept. I continued to lose more blood as well as several baseball size clots. I also passed out in the bathroom, but luckily, the RN was right next to me. I was soaking 5 supermaxi pads in 45 minutes. My hemoglobin level dropped again and I need another blood transfusion.

They took me to the OR and performed a D & C. There was a very large piece of the placenta still in there along with several clots.

I was released from the hospital yesterday and I am resting at home now. I feel great and I am hardly bleeding at all.

I think as long as neither of you are in distress, since your IPs are behind you, I would just wait it out until at least 38 weeks.

    Sorry this is stressing you!
The MFM doc said at my last u/s that they should treat me as a true diabetic which should be to deliver at 37 with mature amnio. He said the risk of an IUFD is higher in diabetics. I think that risk is only higher is someone who doesn't keep sugars in control and doesn't do kick counts. I would still do my non-stress tests and lots of kick counts. My sugars are in control.

They have also talked about the risk of cord prolapse with Polyhydramnios. When my water breaks it will be a hugh gush and could cause the cord to come down before baby's head. I have a risk of PPROM so they have told me about this risk and what to look out for for a while. If I do the induction she will break my water slowly to reduce that risk.

    Oh So many what ifs

I hope you are able to find a plan that works well and that your heart can be happy with! Or better yet that you go into labor very, very soon on your own!!

Had my u/s. Baby girl is measuring 9#9oz. Why does she have to be so big??? I did the amnio and I am agreeing to the induction on Monday. She measured 4339 grams and there recommendation is a c/s after 4300 grams and I am just over so they will let me try the induction. We found out in an hour that the amnio is mature so I went straight to my docs and she stripped my membranes. I am just hanging put now waiting for something to happen. She said she will strip them again tomorrow if nothing happens. Praying it happens naturally before Monday.

I hope the stripping of the membranes helps trigger labor before Monday! That is a big baby! It's probably good that you don't have to wait much longer to deliver. Great to hear the amnio results were good. I hope things move along for you!

Sabrina - I hope you are feeling better and the rest of the recovery is easier for you. That must have been awful!

AFM: I have an induction scheduled for 5/9. We might change it to the 11th, since that is a little better for my IPs to travel here, but we're not sure yet. Either way, it's basically two more weeks! That seems so crazy to me If I don't dilate at all before then, my OB might decide to cancel the induction, but I usually start to dilate to 1-2 during the last couple of weeks so I'm no too worried about that part of it. Next US is scheduled for 5/1 and OB appt for 5/2.

Just got back from having membranes stripped again. The baby floated up higher. She has been low enough for doc to feel her head now she can't. The plan for the induction was to break my water instead of Pitocin but now that her head floated up she said she doesn't feel comfortable breaking water first. We need the Pit to bring her head back down. With all the extra fluid the cord had a chance of prolapsing when my water breaks. If her head was low enough she said she would break my water slowly. I am really upset. I was hoping to get throught the induction without Pit. I sat on exercise ball last night and this morning for an hour. It's supposed to bring her head down not make it go back up. Also bumming that I contracted every 5-7 minutes yesterday and I am till only 3cm.

Sorry things aren't progressing for you! Avoiding pit would be great, I have been through 3 inductions, soon to be 4, and I would have loved to get away without the pit. I am never dilated enough for the OB to reach to break my water first, so I usually sit through a few hours of the pit before he can break my water. Things usually fly after that. I hope those contractions start doing something for you, along with the repeat stripping.

Oh Jenna! I am so sorry to hear things are not going like you would like.

I will add you to my very, very long list of prayers. And I know it's not the best advice, but try to remember no matter how she gets here the most important thing is that you both are healthy. You are a strong lady and you will get through this. I have had pitocin for every single delivery, for me it was never awful. Crazy how all our bodies react differently!

    Big, big hugs!!!

AFM I had been hoping for a distraction from Mother's Day, which was the twins due date. I got it in an extremely unfortunate way. On Monday I recieved news that my 45 y/o cousin had passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer right around Christmas. On Wednesday a dear friend and client ( I am a personal care giver) who is 40 had a massive heart attack. He is in the ICU on a respirator in a coma, with little hope for recovery. =(

Well, I am still preggo. Nothing I have been doing has been working. I am getting desperate enough to try castor oil tomorrow if nothing happens tonight. After she stripped my membranes yesterday I had lots of thick mucous come out so I though for sure last night would be it.Nada! I am really starting to stress over the induction.

I think maybe you should try to keep your IP's baby in until your induction. There is no way I would want to risk my water breaking at home with Polyhydramnios and having the cord prolapse. I had poly with my first surrobabe and the Dr. had to hold the babies head and use it as a plug to slowly release the fluid in order to avoid prolapse. I hope you have an easy delivery and everything turns out well for baby.
