I have not personally had these pets, but we were at the local country/feed store about 2 years back and there was a man there with a pet opposum. I have a pic on my computer, will come back to post it...on my phone now. And there is a teenage boy where my DS and I do Taekwondo, and he has a de-scented skunk. I snapped a pic of them too. I think it's also on my computer.

Those are the strangest I've come across...and I would never want to own either of them.

    We have snakes

This is my son's favorite, Lemonade.

Right now we have eight ball pythons, two carpet pythons, and a hybrid angolan-ball. I just sold 4 of the balls and am working on bringing the collection down to two.

This one isn't exotic, but she's kind of cool anyway. She's a silkie chicken I got last week

DS#1 wanted me to share that he has a large mouth bass that's living in his closet. The boy named it "Dinner". Of course right now it's only a little bit bigger than the size of my hand.

We had a pet skunk when I was a little girl. He was so sweet and cuddly, but got pneumonia and died when he was only a few months old

A friend of mine had a pet raccoon, that thing got into EVERYTHING! They have very articulate hands, like a human, and she couldn't keep anything safe from him,LOL. Plus, raccoon like to potty in water, so he would go in the dogs water bowl and in her tub. I definitely do not recommend them as pets

We don't have any exotic pets now, but we've had chinchillas in the past.

A friend of the family was moving and needed a home for her female. We took her in and about a month later, she had a baby. We didn't know she was pregnant (and the previous owner said she had not been around any males so it was a mystery to her as well.)

About 2 years later she had 3 more babies. (Vet said baby was a girl, apparently he was mistaken.)

So, we had 5 at one time. We rehomed the babies and seperated the mom and baby so they couldn't breed again.

Later got 2 more males. Eventually rehomed all four. They were a lot of work, but sooo cute!

This is what babies look like for those unfamilar with them.

my foursilkies are about that size! I was told they can't fly so I was going to build a ramp to get out the coop door. Well, they get outside just fine and I watched all four of them jump/fly up five inches to get back in!

I have the normal pets, two cats and a dacshund, but also a double yellow-headed amazon parrot. I've had several non-traditional pets, mainly exotic birds including an African Grey I adored and was crushed when I had to rehome him. (he was very jealous of my son and we feared a nasty confrontation between them since DS is autistic and therefore lacks fear) Anyway, birds, prairie dogs, trantulas, miniature pony, chickens of multiple species, alligators, snakes, iguanas, chameleon, gecko, frogs, raccoon, bat, turtles, all have been residents of my previous homes. I love critters in general and was often called "Ellie May" by friends ad neighbors growing up due to my habit of rescuing animals.

We have a Bearded Dragon, 2 Fire Belly frogs, 2 hairless rats, a guinea pig, 4 dogs and are in the process of getting a Desert Tortoise. We tried to get a goat in January, but the county said we weren't zoned for it.

DH really wants a Chinchilla next, while DS wants a snake. We shall see!

    Back at the drawing board!

OMG they are sooooooo creepy!!!! I was in my back yard and I turned towards my back fence and there was a possum about that size on the fence. I yelled an obscenity and it slowly crawled down the OTHER side of the fence, thank goodness!!

And I agree they do look alike!
