yes, it was a diagnostic place...it was kind of weird because she only stayed on the face mostly and did a quick measure of the body, and maybe one leg, but not the feet or anything else.

She was delivered 2 days later via c-section weighing 9lbs 11 oz. It was still big, but not nearly as bad as they made it seem! There's a few things that can skew the measurements. It's actually pretty common for the u/s to be off by a pound or even more.
was the c-section your choice or due to the size? they said she is head down but the face shots were all at my left hip. i don't understand the positioning lol. i am going to my OB tomorrow anyway and see what he says.

Ehhhhh I don't know if I'd give it much consideration then. Has baby been measuring big?? I would maybe just bring it up at the next ob appointment?? I know the last few measurements have worried me too... I hope they are over guessing on us both!!

Anyone else get third trimester 'morning' sickness? Its been off and on the last two weeks and I've kept nothing down today. I think it sucks worse at this point. Blah.

Jenn, I must be getting sympathy nausea! I have never had morning sickness before so this is just odd for me!

Miranda, the c-section was done because the doctor felt the baby was too big to even attempt a vaginal delivery. That was even more frustrating for me. We knew from 20 weeks on that she was measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. I begged him to induce before she got "too big" but he refused. I still believe I could have done a vaginal birth if he had induced then. It was a horrible experience for me. :-(

Funny you mention it, I have been nauseous the past several mornings. Nothing as bad as you're describing though. Hopefully it passes quickly.

I didn't have morning sickness but ucky tummy bug for 24 hours. Horrible! I hope for you that it isn't a whole 3rd trimester sickness. I got some strong contractions for about 3-4 hours whilist I was vomiting but not regular or anything. Are you doing ok with the vomiting or is it taking those last pieces of energy out of your body? I feel so bad for you...hang in there.

Update: It's a boy! We are in team pink but on one of the later U/S found out it is actually a boy.

My OB is seeing me next week for an ultrasound to see if she really is as big as the 3D said. Then we will go from there...all else ok, he said I am measuring a bit big again and heartrate was in the 160s and I gained 3 lbs. We are discussing the end of May induction because he says normally I start dilating at 38 weeks, and he will be out of town the following week...he doesn't want me walking around dialated and then go into labor and he/IPs miss it! (um neither do I!) He had told me before that they aren't allowed inducing before 7 days from due date which is June 11, but I don't know if scheduled C-section is the same protocol. We will just have to wait and see how this plays out...

Miranda, that's good that your OB is going to check again. Refresh me memory, why are you doing a scheduled c-section?

Good news on my end. My IFs were able to get the PBO here! So no traveling for me! Additionally, they made history for Nevada by being the first same-sex couple to get a PBO here. They have opened a door for other same-sex couples to be able to establish parental rights before birth and to have their names on the birth certificate! It's definitely an exciting event for us! Now, just to wait for this little lady to come!

I surely didn't WANT y'all to have "morning" (which is never just morning) sickness, though I'm glad I'm not alone. If it gets too bad the doctor told me to take the phenegran I already have at home.

Kiwi - good to hear from you! Congrats on the sneaky boy. How are you feeling??

Miranda - I am glad the OB will check the size again!! Is it definitely a c-section regardless??

Amy - What AWESOME news. That is HUGE and so wonderful for you and your IFs!!!

AFM ... still doing well. Contractions off and on remain. Dilated to a 2 and 30% effaced. My doctor thinks the induction/vbac is very favorable and should go well. He can feel the head and bag of water, so he may just break my water and wait to see IF we need to supplement in pitocin. I did test positive for group b, so we'll have to flow antibiotics. Otherwise, all still looks great and we'll keep trudging on... soooo close!!!

No, we have not said for sure on C-section or vaginal birth...probably depends on size.

IMHO, I wouldn't agree to a scheduled c-section for size ever again. You see 10+ pound babies born vaginally all the time. If the doc will induce at 38 weeks, I'd go for a Trial of Labor (aka TOLAC) first. If the baby is showing any signs of problems, then opt for the c-section. In that case, you're already there and prepared anyway! If you are planning on any future surrogacies/pregnancies, having additional c-sections makes it harder to match, and in some doctors' eyes makes you a higher risk.

I agree with Amy. I'd only have a csection again if absolutely positively necessary. And I'd still whine and cry like a baby.
