    Default Looking at your cervix

I became curious to what extent we (females on the board) are familiar with our own bodies.

Please feel free to comment. :sunshine:

Oh gee... I had a difficult enough time looking for my IUD string... let alone try and reach in to touch my cervix!

Here's a link for information on how to do a cervical self exam.

As to feeling it, you use your finger.:D

You can look at your own cervix with a mirror. See link above.

As too feeling it, most find it easiest when standing in the shower with one foot on the side. Depending on your time in your cycle, your cervix will be in a different location inside of you vagina. Sometimes it is higher up and other times it is quit easy to reach.

You can also reach your own cervix when seated on the toilet or laying down in bed.

Doesn't anyone here use the cervix in foreplay? It is very feeling part of your female anatomy. Perhaps you should prompt your partners to find it and manually play with it a bit. :HEARTSMIL Running circles around the exterior rim with a finger is normally quite pleasurable for most women.

I have several of them. I got them from the physician who provided support for home births in my area.

I guess we have a very open family. My three older children, who are now adults, were just laughing the other day about playing with my speculums. The nick named them duck bills and use to chase one another around the house with them while shouting out quacking sounds! :rotfl:

Looked and touched, yes. I'm all about knowing everything I can, so even if I learn the slightest bit, it may help with my being a TS. That may sound weird to some, but it's just how I am - a knowitall.

My midwife showed me mine with a mirror and I feel my cervix when I am preggo (I have very fast labor.....it stop me from running to L & D every day at the end of the pregnancy.) Feeling your cervix is also a good way to know if you are ovulating soon. (Hard as your forhead.....or as soft as your lips)

    touch - yes
seen - yes...on a video monitor under high magnification. I had an abnormal pap back in 2006 and they sent me for a colposcopy. I questioned and pestered and bothered the doctor doing it until he turned the monitor enough for me to see. - I really need to get one of those clear speculums...

    Yes to both.
And I also own a speculum. But my dh doesn't think it's very funny that I remind him it's dishwasher safe! :haha:

Ive seen it and touched it, though it does kind of weird me out, because it's an internal organ. I also own a speculum, but have not used it.

Thank you Erica for the siggy!
