My intended parents and I met a year ago now (feels like so much longer with the wonderful relationship we have) and we've been through one IVF transfer (July 2006) that ended in a miscarriage shortly before the first trimester mark. We're gearing up for another transfer come this January and I'm not quite as optimistic at this point as the first go round... but I know the closer we get to the big day the more excited and hopefull I'll get! I read so many success stories on SMO and I want to thank you all very much so... with your help I can now put a more postive look on our fertility future again. I would love to read more stores so keep them coming. Even the rough journey stories as well. I really think those need to be out here more for intended parents as well as carriers and surrogates. Being prepared for the rough spots would have been nice for me being a mother of two with super easy conceptions, pregnancies, labors, deliveries, and babies. My carrier journey is open to anyone who is interested. I'll leave you with this... I cannot wait to see a sweet baby(ies) come out of all the chaos of the fertility world! Have a great day! | |

| • hi, I would like to share a painful but true story. We found our surrogate on this web-site and started our journey over 2yrs. ago. I thought when I finally found her it was a dream come true. It turned out o.k. in the end but I am writing this as a warning to others. Our surrogate signed all kinds of contracts and agreements, including a celibacy contract. We were so lucky to have been blessed after the second try with the news she was pregnant. Maybe we were naive, now I realize we were for sure naive. I asked if we needed a dna test & she laughed. She said the only man in her life was her ex-boyfriend & the father of her 4 kids,& she said he found her repulsive & unattractive. I quess not to unattractive, because 2 months after our daughter was born, & all payments had been made, she showed up at our door wanting our child back & claiming that whoops!, she wasn't ours she was her ex's. I still think this site is a wonderful thing I just wanted to express to all to be careful. It took us 2yrs. to settle custody. Our daughter is w/ us now & forever, and I struggle every day to learn to trust again. Bless all of you & please be honest w/ each other. Just coming in quickly to share my story. I placed an ad for my spouse and I as hopeful parents in the adoption section of the Classified area in December of '04. We received a few responses -- mostly women asking if we had considered a surrogate, and then two days after Christmas, we received an email from my son's birthmother. We clicked and matched in January of '05. Our son was born in February of '05 and just celebrated his first birthday. :) I am so grateful for this site, and will post another ad when we are gearing up to adopt our second child. :) It was the only outreach we did the first time around! Good luck to all who come here to expand their families, and especially to those who provide others with the amazing gift of becoming a parent. | |

Just want to share my story and wish you all luck on whatever your journey is. I did egg donation to one wonderful family. They have two children. I then decided to to Surrogocy. Knowing that Traditional was not for my family we did Gestational Surrogacy. We delivered twin boys October 03', twin girls October 04' and will be delivering boy/girl twins April 06'. They are all healty and our families are close and will continue to be close and keep in touch. Good luck to each of you! May your dream come true! | |

| • I was blessed with an unexpected pregnancy when I was only 17 and still in High School. I thought life was over for me, but it only took until he started kicking for me to realize my life was just beginning. I now have a beautiful, healthy three year old boy, who is the light of my life, and as for the rest of my life I'm going to school to be a Biology Teacher and doing well. I have to say pregnancy and having a child came so easy for me I took it for granted, but when I found out my Aunt had several misscarages and even gone to the Ukrain to adopt only to come home childless, I know that I could be a surrugate for her and my uncle. My Aunt is a teacher and has spent her life helping others, she taught in Camden, NJ and was a foster mom for a while. She is my inspiration to be a teacher and I hope someday to be as great a person as her. I have talked to her and my family and we are just starting the process. I was so alittle nervous until I did some more resurch on it, but now I am totaly at easy with my decision and more than ever know it is the right thing to do. Thank you for all your stories! | |

I had posted my success story in Feb 2002 and wanted to update. :) I had twin boys in Oct of 1998 (30 yrs old), and boy/girl twins in Nov of 2001 (33 yrs old). They were both great pregnancies, each with their minor challenges, resulting in four very healthy babies! We do still keep in touch, and all meet together at least once or twice a year. I was blessed to be able to help two wonderful couples, with their wonderful and supportive families. Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions, I am always willing to help. :) | |

It's been a couple of years since I visited SMO. Coming back brings back so much of my past. Surrogate Mothers Online is where I met our Traditional Surrogate. We had dealt with years of infertility and many nights of asking God, "Why can't I be a Mom?". For the longest time there seemed to be no answer. Now I can clearly see that God was preparing to not only to bring us a child, but a best friend as well. Her name is Tina and I met her on SMO. She became our Traditional surrogate and bore a son for my husband and I in April 2003. We named him James "Asa". Every time I look at him I not only see my husband, but I also see my best friend. She is truely a blessing to all that know her and I thank God every day for bringing her into my life. God used this adversity in my life to bring two me gifts..Tina and Asa. We now have 4 children James "Asa", Chase, and two foster daughters. It's hard to remember those quiet days at times. If I can say one more thing, Don't give up hope! | • I have had the most wonderful experience of my entire life. I found my intended parents on SMO after researching the possibilities of being a surrogate. They contacted me by email and we have been the best of friends since then. I put my add up on Jan 15 of this year and they responded along with many others the very next day. We have undergone 2 IUI and both failed but we tried the at home insemination and with our surprise the first attempt was successful and I am now expecting their first child on March 31, 2006!! I have done an uncountable amount of research on all this and the canadian laws of surrogacy and if anyone out there ever needs help or inquiries about it then they can feel free to contact me via email. There is literally NO info on the canadian surrogate out there and especially the canadian traditional surrogate!! Good luck and happy hunting to all!!!!! | |

| • I was born with multiple congential abnormalities. When my husband and I met, I informed him of my problems and discussed with him the possiblity of never carrying a child. My husband sister's had 2 wonderful healthy children and offered to be our GS if needed. After 3 years of trying on our own, we took her up on her offer and went to a fertility specialist. My sister-in-law was a SUPER trooper. On our 1st IVF cycle, we implanted 3 of our own fertilized eggs into her and she became pregnant with triplets!!! My sister-in-law was a wonderful woman and never complained through the pregnancy except for that my son's were making her eat meat. She was a strict vegetarian. She almost gave up her life during the birth to produce our 3 miracle sons. Troy, Thomas and Tyler are now 15 months old and are healthy as horses. We feel that God has truly blessed our family with the gift of life. See my sister-in-law is the only female born in 4 generations of my husband's family. God knew from the beginning of her creation that she was someone who would honor him with her generosity and unconditional love. We are now searching for another SG to hopefully fulfill our last remaining frozen embryos and give them life. Blessing to all!!! | |

| • I have not been on this site for three years. I am back now to tell you what has happened. I decided in 2001 to be a surrogate mom. I can't really tell you what made me decide to research it, but besides my own children, it is the best thing that has happened in my life. I have met life long friends and helped them have two sons. I came to your site out of curiosity and to learn about the pros and cons. I put my ad in and waited. I e-mailed and spoke with a lot of intended parents, but when one woman e-mailed me, I knew right away they were the ones. We decided to save money and do it on our own. We were met with a lot of opinions, but through perseverence and prayer, we have two more children to be proud of. June 7, 2005, they have a three year old to call their own. In December, the youngest will be two. I am so proud to announce, that now they are expecting one of their own. I guess these two had redirected their thoughts and now they are about 23 weeks pregnant. I am so proud and honored to have been able to do this for them. God has put everyone on this earth for a reason, that I feel was mine. I am now thinking of embarking on this adventure again. Thank you for the info on your site and how well it is put together. | • Hi, my name is Jennifer and this is my second time being a GC, I had transfer today, April 23rd and I am very optomistic. My IP's had 2 100 cell 5 day blascycsts that were "put back". I will keep everyone informed! As I said this is my 2nd surrogacy, my first surrotwins just turned 1 on February 21st. They are so beautiful! was blessed to be a surrogate for a wonderful man,who, since having a child, has now found his soul mate...! The journey was wonderful. Although, we did, on occasion, have some issues related to distance. However, the overall story definitely had a happily ever after. I am currently in the process of starting another journey. I had a couple of false starts, which was disappointing but, ultimately, for the best. I know the right famiy is out there and patience is something I have plenty of! My family was very touched by the process and it has enriched us all. To do something out of love for another, is a very fulfilling thing to do. I would encourage anyone who is doing surrogacy to do it out of love for those less fortunate- not because there is a financial reward. When you really look at it from the right perspective, you will see there is absolutely no way to value something like this. Many people feel it is a business arrangement. For some, that may be the case. However, for those women I know, like me, who do this? it is because they have a special heart and want to help someone do something they cannot do for themselves. I would hope that if you are looking to be a surrogate, you know going in that this is a very intense but wonderful, experience. The feelings of excitement are sure to overwhelm and there seem to be so many nice people wanting to embark on the journey. Take your time and get to know the PIP's before committing to anything.
