    25. My wife and I have been negotiating an AI contract with a potential surrogate. The surrogate believes that no more than 3 cycles of inseminations is the norm for most AI contract. Since she will not being taking drugs to increase the chances, we believe that 6 or less cycles of inseminations would be the average? Also, how much should a AI surrogate be compensated per cycle? - Anonymous - Top

On average a traditional surrogates contract calls for 5-7 tries. But my previous one called for 12 tries. It really is up to you about how many you do. Most surrogates take 5-6 months to get pregnant.

Some AI surrogates get cycles fees although, I think it is highly unnecessary, especially if you are paying for lost wages, child care, mileage, hotel and food. But, some programs do give a surrogate 100.00 per day they are doing anything related to inseminations, more or less depending on your personal needs.

With my last insemination cycles we did Repronex, an injectable, and I seriously thought about asking for the insemination fee because the shots were a very big inconvience!

    Good Luck!
