  • Q & A: Medical Issues - Egg Donation

Topics may include the risks involved in egg donation, side effects from meds, questions about protocol, etc.

    14. I have an eight month old baby. She is our last of three. My husband has had a vasectomy. I am very interested in donating my healthy eggs to women who have been unable to experience the joy that I have. I am breast feeding and plan to for about a year. Is it possible for me to donate while I am breastfeeding or will I need to wait? - A.C. in Michigan - Top

    Dear A.C.,

When you are still nursing, it is best to avoid taking any type of Medicine. With egg donation, there are many drugs involved, and I wouldn't take the chance of them getting into your baby's system. Why don't you wait till your baby is finished nursing before starting an egg donation. For more detailed information, please contact an infertility clinic, and get the advice of a doctor. Good Luck!
