Dear Shaundra,

I had two very wonderful experiences when it comes to egg donation. I went through an agency both times. They took care of finding me a couple, contract, meds, travel arrangements, expense money, and the money I was paid after the retreval.

Both times the retreval for me was very pain free. The first time I slept through the whole thing, and the second I stayed awake to help the Dr count how many eggs he retrevied. I was a little tender but not in pain afterwards. (I have heard that for some people it is relatively painful. This can account for the Dr, circumstances, number of eggs, ect.) I was also nauseous from the anesthesia they gave to me.

I was paid $3,500 . I also had all of my medical and travel expenses paid. I am still able to have children of my own, but I am currently working on becoming a gestational surrogate for a wonderful couple.

There are risks involved in this procedure as well as with any minor medical procedure. You may want to consider holding off on egg donation until after you are done completing your own family!!
