Topics may include the risks involved in egg donation, side effects from meds, questions about protocol, etc.

    6. My question is would you know of any indepents or should I say where can I look for a listing in NY where I can donate. Do you know of any places in either New York or New Jersey? I am in the process of becoming a donor, but I have one question.. Is there or will there be a chance of me getting cancer. I think this is the greatest gift a woman can give to another. I was blessed with two beautiful daughters ages 4 yeard old and 4 months old. I also had another question is it too early for to go through the procedure I just had my 2nd daughter 1/99 also I'm not breastfeeding but I am on the depo-provera shot. Will any of this will stop me from going forward with the donating procedure. Thanks for answering. - Anonymous in NY - Top

    Dear Anonymous,

There are always risks associated with the egg donation process. Although the risks are slim to none most agencies and Dr's offices will make you sign consent forms. There have been no studies that I have heard of thus far that says these medicines higher your risks for cancer. You may need to ask yourself if you are done with the two beautiful children you have, if not, you may want to wait until you are done with your family.

There are many ways in which to find places to donate eggs in your area. The best one is the internet. Just use a search engine, with the key word being "Egg Donation", or "Egg Donor", or even "IVF". Many infertility programs use egg donors, you just need to call and ask them. You can apply to agencies all over the country (these are found on the internet as well), as many have clients in your area, or will fly you to the Intended Parent's area. If you prefer, you can place an ad on SMO in the egg donation area, and Intended Parents will contact you. For finding someone in your area that is going through egg donation, or has been a donor, you can post a message on the "egg donor message boards".

Good luck to you whatever road you take ...
