    1. How do you perform at home inseminations? Where would you get the supplies to do it? - Anonymous in Louisiana - Top

We did home insems using a 50cc syringe purchased at a medical supply store. My husband deposited the sperm in a small sterile cup (also purchased at a medical supply store but dixie cups will work). I took the sperm to our surrogate who was waiting in another room. She drew the sperm up in the syringe and then depositied the sperm as close to her cervix as she could. She then put on an Instead which is like a cervical cap and laid with her bottom raised up on a pillow for 30 minutes. She wore the Instead for 6-8
hours. We did 1 insem every other day for 7 days during her fertile period. We got pregnant our second cycle. Hope this helps.

Hello! Generally 14 days after you begin your menstrual cycle. You should get a on an OPK.

Once you see your you just get the semen, usually gotten through masturbation, (that has been placed in a sterile container) and draw it up into the syringe. You can use any size you would like 3cc, 10cc. What ever floats your boat.

There are some special kits. You can call Dr. Zavos in Lexington KY at 606-254-8108 and he can send you all the supplies and instructions. He is great and I like him a lot!!!

Usually, home insems last for 3 days. At night time.

    Good Luck,
    Jennifer
