    1. Have any of you had problems with side effects from the meds that need to be taken for GS? The first time I took them I was fine, but this time I keep getting cluster migraines and intestinal problems. Also, do you know if is it possible to go through a natural cycle and still have the same odds at a successful transfer? - Anonymous

    2. I have been looking for an answer to this question for about three weeks, now. I am a traditional surrogate. I have had three failed AIs and everytime my doctor says my lining is perfect, my follicles are perfect, everything is perfect. But nothing ever happens. So, the IF had a chromosomal test done on the sperm, and everything is fine w/ him. Now, we are attempting to do an IVF w/ my natural cycle. My question is: how does this work? what will happen? does it hurt? will I be on bedrest? I will have to drive three hours to my doctor in KY, and so will I need to stay there for a certain amount of time? Please help!! - Nicole

    8. I noticed in your answer to a previous question, that you felt that an inplantation during the gestational carrier's natural cycle was unusual. I have been implanted one week ago during my natural cycle, with no reference to it being done any other way. My cycle did not need to be in sync with the genetic mom's, since the embryos were frozen. I too never met with the fertility clinic until day 10 of my cycle to commence vaginal ultrasounds (although did meet with psychologists). Am I missing something? Please advise! - Berna

    9. I am the surrogate for a very wonderful couple and we plan on doing the transfer next month. What I am wondering is because I am the GS will I have to take meds? If so what? I was also wondering what the usual amount of embroys to be transferred is? The eggs we will be using will be frozen, also is there less of a sucsess rate with frozen embryos? - Anonymous in Canada

    11. Hi I am a little curious, I am just wondering if I were to decide that I would like to become a surrogate mother, would I have to use my own eggs, or would the persons who I would be carrying the baby for be able to already have their egg Fertilized and implanted inside me? I am also wondering about how many eggs they Might put inside me. I think this is something I would like to do but under the right situation for me and the parents. --Anonymous in Canada

    12. I too have been a surrogate. I gave birth 9 months ago to beautiful boy for a beautiful family. I am on my second surrogacy now. The first attempt failed. My question is about the differences in protocal. My doctor the first time had me do progestrone in shot form. The last doctor said it did not matter so I chose the tabs that melt under your tongue. Dr. #1 had me totally rest for the first 24 hrs. then easy does it for 10 days. Dr. #2 said fly straight home and you can exercise if you want, low impact of course. I don't want to take any chances so in your experience whats best. - Kristal

    15. My wife and I (due to her asthma and other health issues) are considering a surrogate mother using our own sperm and egg. There appears to be tons of info and links on this site. Can you stear me to a place on this site or elsewhere for advice on freezing our eggs and sperm now for future use. She is having some difficulty with her ovaries and may have to have surgery and lose the ability to have children. Thanks so much. -Raymond

    16. Is it possible to transplant an embryo within the first trimester into another woman to carry it to full term. I might be interested in that. Any time after fertilization and growth of the fetus has begun would be something I am interested in, but, however, I am interested in knowing specifically also if it could be done in the third month. Please let me know... - thelastadam

Please let me know any things that you think I could do, such as have the kids somewhere else or in their own home. I want to be prepared. Thanks again. - Shawn in NJ

    19. I have read somewhere that after IVF the surrogate cannot have any kind of sexual penetration for awhile. Is this true and if so, for how long after? Also, just so you know my husband had a vasectomy at the beginning of the year so I'm not asking this for protection reasons.
