    15. My wife and I (due to her asthma and other health issues) are considering a surrogate mother using our own sperm and egg. There appears to be tons of info and links on this site. Can you stear me to a place on this site or elsewhere for advice on freezing our eggs and sperm now for future use. She is having some difficulty with her ovaries and may have to have surgery and lose the ability to have children. Thanks so much. -Raymond - Top

    First, I'm sorry it has taken so long to reply to your letter. Life with twins is very time consuming and I don't get many chances to catch up on my e-mail. I'm glad you enjoyed the website.

    You ask about finding information on freezing your eggs/sperm. They currently don't have sufficient technology to freeze unfertilized eggs with any great success, so you would have to create embryos to freeze. Many infertility sites should have information on this as well as statistics on the success rates of frozen embryo transfers. Unfortunately, success rates with frozen embryos are not as high as those with fresh. But, the statistics are based upon transferring the frozen embryos to couples with fertility problems, not to surrogates in whom there is a higher chance of success.
