    1. I'd love for you to cite your references that 99% of birthmoms do NOT know the potential adoptive parents. That may have been true 30 years ago but certainly NOT today. With the advent of semi-open and open adoptions the parties get to know each other well before the child is born. As an adoptive mother or two who is very active in the adoption community, both on line and off, I'd have to say that many if not most adoptive situations now lean toward 'open'. - Susan

    8. I have met the woman of my dreams. We have been dating for over a year and a half and we plan to get married soon. my question stems from the fact that due to some medical problem (still not real sure about it since she doesn't like to talk about the details all that much) she had to have a partial hysterectomy. She still ovulates. I was wondering is it still possible for us to have our own (genetically) children? Is this a common form of Surrogacy? How much would a process like that cost? How risky would it be? What are the chances that surrogacy will result in more than one child (ie. twins)? Could we have her sister be our Surrogate mother? Sorry this is so long but I have so many questions and she doesn't really like to talk about this. - Mark in Nevada

    9. Is there any time when you think that surrogating is wrong? - Anonymous

    12. Does anyone know of a group or someone to talk to about failed surrogacy? Everything we researched said that surrogates just don't keep the baby...but ours did. Our son was born almost four years ago and other than 3 days in the hospital with him we haven't been permitted to see him. We tried to reason with our surrogate but to know avail. People who knew her say she is a great actress and was only playing a role to please us, but we had known her for years. We are in court trying to fight for custody and at this point even visits and DNA testing. She fights every step we take. Needless to say this whole thing has caused so much sorrow to us and our families. We just don't know where to turn anymore. Any help out there or others in our shoes? - Chubmom
