Surrogacy and Egg Donation Q and A

    8. I have met the woman of my dreams. We have been dating for over a year and a half and we plan to get married soon. my question stems from the fact that due to some medical problem (still not real sure about it since she doesn't like to talk about the details all that much) she had to have a partial hysterectomy. She still ovulates. I was wondering is it still possible for us to have our own (genetically) children? Is this a common form of Surrogacy? How much would a process like that cost? How risky would it be? What are the chances that surrogacy will result in more than one child (ie. twins)? Could we have her sister be our Surrogate mother? Sorry this is so long but I have so many questions and she doesn't really like to talk about this. - Mark in Nevada - Top

    Mark,

This form of surrogacy is called gestational
surrogacy, to reduce cost and to make it a more family affair you can have your sister-in-law be the surrogate, cost for this can really vary, but I have heard and read up to 40,000. About 60% of GS result in twin pregnancy. But Linda P. is the one to ask about this. She is the GS guru!
