    14. My problem is, as i have short cervix, i can not carry my preganancy more than 21-22 weeks. I had to abort two preganancy due to that. It means that i have a healthy egg but can not carry my preganancy. And i would like to clarify one thing, we don't have much money. So, if i donate my egg to someone who needs egg and she is having stong uters and carry two eggs at a time. one for me and one for her. I don't want any thing for that egg donation. But in the exchange i want one baby. Could u please suggest me what should i do and am i right or wrong regarding this. Please advise me. Thanks. - JMJ in NJ - Top

    JMJ,

Hello! I think you would qualify as an egg donor. BUT I don't know how you would find a woman to carry her and your pregnancy at the same time. You might be able to do a couple of egg donations and retain that fee and then pay for a gestational carrier after you have accumulated all the funds needed. I would contact Cooper IVF in NJ, they have an excellent program and have a wonderful reputation for working with egg donors.

    Good luck,

    JMJ,

This is a very complicated plan. My understanding is that you would like to give someone your eggs in exchange for them carrying a child for you since you can not afford to do gestational surrogacy. If that is the case you have several problems with this plan.

1). You would still have to pay for part of the IVF procedures in order to have a child of your own because your eggs would have to be fertilized before they could be placed in the carrier.

2). Another problem would be deciding how many of which embryos would be implanted. You can only transfer so many, usually no more than 4, and then there is no guarentee how many would take if any.

3). Another problem is what if only one embryo takes. Lets say you transfer 4, 2 of the carriers and 2 of yours. Of those four only 1 takes or two take how would you know whose babies they were? You would have to wait until around 5 months to do Amnio to determine whose babies they were. One of each would be great but what if they were both yours how would the carrier feel, or what if they were both hers how would you feel. On the other hand what if all four were to take and then you and the carrier were faced with selective reduction????

As you can see, this would be a very hard thing to work out. However, you may find some one who would be willing to act as your gestational surrogate at a later date for no fee in exchange for your eggs. This would still require you to pay for IVF but it might help. This way the carrier could have a child with your eggs and then later carry a child for you. This could prevent a lot problems.

I hope this helps and that you can work something out.

I'm afraid that this scenario is an impossible one. First, in an egg donation, they often put back several embryo in the hope of having at least ONE embyo survive. Only sometimes does more than one embryo "stick". Usually women looking for egg donations are doing so because they have fertility problems of their own -- age, poor egg quality, genetic factors, etc. On the chance that two or more embryos took, which one would be given up? I think it is too emotionally charged to work.

What might be possible instead is to donate your eggs to someone who would agree to carry a second pregnancy for you if the first were successful, but I think this will also be a difficult situation to be in.

    Wishing you luck,
