    8. I have volunteered my body to be a GS for a very close family member that cannot get PG on their own after many years of trying, therefore I am very sympathetic. We have gone through the testing steps and now the legalities are beginning. Now, this is where my concerns begin. My IPs do very well for themselves financially unlike myself (single mother). Now, in the beginning I told them that this was not a big money thing for me and thought it would be hard for me to take their money after all they have gone through and was offered $4500.00 for the nine months. That amount would also pay for my legal fees, legal fees roughly costing $1200. Now, I don't want to sound selfish but, I feel that I should have been looking out for me as well I love my IPs very much and do not know how to tell them this without sounding money hungry but I guess the further I go into this the more I feel that I should be better compensated. Are my feelings wrong? Do you have any suggestions? - Jennifer

    13. My best friend has offered to be our surrogate. This will be a GS Surrogacy, using my eggs and my husbands sperm. My friend expects no fee, this is her gift to us. My question is: What will be the basic expense for this procedure, since we won't be paying a surrogate fee? - Anonymous in GA

    16. Hi. I am wondering about the cost for surrogacy fees. I have noticed that surrogates get very little in compensation. Why is this? My wife and I are considering becoming surrogate parents and it seems a little unfair to me that the attorneys, the clinics and the agencies make more then the surrogates. Why is that and is that to be expected? One clinic said the average surrogate receives 10,000, but that does not seem like enough. This concerns me. Why are the intended parents willing to pay so much to everyone except the surrogate??? - David in Maine

    17. I am currently in search for an AI surrogate but I was wanting to know how payments are usually made to the surrogate? Do they get it after the birth or in monthly payments? When do payments start? Thank you for any info or personal experience you have. - Aimee in VA

    18. I am thinking about becoming a surrogate mother. I am concerned about requesting too much as a fee. I have noticed in many of your responses to such questions, you have given different amounts... one time you suggested 10-18,000. To another question, you responded 15-21,000. My question is, is that really enough? As a surrogate, you must completely change your life for the time being. Not only for the child, but for the IP. You must give up a large portion of you life and privacy. Is it really too much to expect around 50,000? If so, why? - Brenda in SC

    19. My husband and I are looking to become parents together. I have a 13 year old from a previous marriage. I am unable to give that same joy to my husband. We have looked into adoption, but the cost is out of our reach. We have read your web site. It is wonderful. Could you tell us what the expected costs would be? We are not rich, except with love to give a child. Our 3rd anniversary is today, and we are still without a child together. - James & Lisa Velten in Maine

    21. My husband and I were just told that we should find a surrogate to carry our child. I wanted to find out what is involved as far as cost and legal information. We live in New Jersey. - Nancy

    22. I am considering AI surrogacy as a possible option, since my wife is unable to get pregnant. I have done a little researching on internet. My question is how do I find a surrogate that is reasonably priced or an agency that is not too greedy? I make a good living in the Navy, yet some of the prices I have seen 10000 to 30000, 40000 dollars on up seem a bit outrageous. I looked at some of the independent ads on the SMO website, but, none of them state price. One did(20000). Is there a way to get in contact with potential surrogates who are not so greedy? - Mark Hull in San Diego, CA

    23. What would be the average price paid to be a surrogate mother? - Anonymous in Canada
