    5. I am an experienced Al surrogate. I am considering doing surrogacy again. Is it fair to ask for a higher amount since I am experienced? Does the fact that I have insurance and am going independantly make a difference? What if I was do be a GS this time around? And what is an average second time surrogate fee? Donna - Top

    Donna,

Sorry it took me so long to answer. As a parent through surrogacy, I do think it is fair to ask for a higher fee as an "experienced" surrogate. I think the average is 3-5,000 but I have to defer to the surrogates on the Q&A section as to what is the average 2nd time fee. Insurance and being independent is helpful in finding IPs, especially those who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford surrogacy.
