There are many more expenses involved with surrogacy than just the surrogate's fee. These expenses vary based on the type of surrogacy and what the surrogates situation is. Common expenses in addition to the fee are: medical, legal, travel, clothing allowance, lost wages, child care, and insurance.

There can be many added expenses or a few. It really depends on who the surrogate is

-maternity clothing allowance
-lost wages
-health insurance
-life insurance
-disability insurance
-transfer/insemination fees
-travel expenses
-household and daycare expenses
-food and phone call expenses

Those are some of them that a surrogate may request compensation for. I have heard of some surrogates who ask for a rounded fee. 20,000 and then there are none on the above. And some may ask for a few. Just depends really. SMO has an ARTICLES section that has two sample contracts (AI and GS). Look at those that will give you an idea about what to expect.
