    There are a lot of questions you can ask a potential surrogate but some of the more important ones are:


    • Reason for wanting to be a surrogate

    • Medical History especially related to pregnancy or heredity

    • Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco use

    • Type of relationship she would like with the intended parents before/during/after

    • What her expectations are for the delivery, ie: drug free/some drugs/pain free and how would she feel about a c-section

    • Feelings about abortion/reduction, ie:would she and if so under what circumstances

    • If doing GS number of babies willing to carry

    • Does she have support of spouse/partner/family

    • Her fee and any other expenses she expects you to provide, ie: lost wages, travel, childcare, paid household help, maternity clothes, life insurance (how much)

    • Does she have medical insurance to cover any of this


    There are a lot of things you can ask a potential SM and none of them have a right or wrong answer. You are asking these questions because you are looking for someone who shares the same opinions and ideas as you about pregnancy, labor, delivery, and surrogacy. You want to find someone how's ideal surrogacy experience is as close to your ideal surrogacy experience as possible. The money questions are to see if you are within each others price range.
