Hello! Single fatherhood is becoming more and more common. Actually, I did my first surrogacy for a single gay man. Just like in the Lesbian community in the gay community and straight community the thought of becoming a single parent is growing rapidly. No, I don't think it is more difficult to find a surrogate because you are single. But I would highly recommend that you be VERY HONEST about your situation. Generally there is full disclosure to the surrogate, that is a part of the relationship. And it's always good to be honest. You would get immediate custody of the infant in the hospital, the surrogate would generally be encouraged to leave before you and the baby do so you can get some help from the hospital staff, under no circumstances should the surrogate retain any kind of custody.
