Surrogacy and Egg Donation Q and A

Surrogate Mothers Online Q & A
  • Q & A: Just Starting Out - Surrogacy

For those just starting down the surrogacy path. Topics may include finding the right match, pros and cons of independent vs. agency, where to start, etc.

    32. I am not sure if this is in the same field, but here goes - My husband and I are seriously considering "creating" a child for his brother and his wife. B/c of serious infertility this would be their last chance to have a baby. We feel like this would be an incredible thing to do for them. But want to get a little imfo. before we take such a big step. Do you have any advice? - Casey Harris in NC - Top

    Casey,

Yes, if your brother and sister-in-law can use their egg and sperm then that is a GS surrogacy. You can't do a traditional because mixing your egg and his sperm could result in a child with massive birth defects.

I would suggest start looking here at SMO. There are a lot of good articles and good links. I would go to TASC and read all the information they have. Also, NASM can help and OPTS is a GOOD site to go and look at. Good Luck!!!

Feel free to join the SMO listserve its a really great asset to a beginner. There are lots of women who are full of lots of information.
